Whatever you have heard about Chicago and it's colorful mayor is probably true but his tactics and the city council members make this beautiful city work. Sit down sometime with a group of people and try to agree on any issue. You know there will be several opinions and by the time the meeting is over nothing is done. I don't agree with the payoffs and kickbacks allegedly happening but without some lubricant to grease the wheel it grinds to a halt. You can be sure that the mayor has this city's interest squarely in his sites. I walk down the lakefront to Adler Planetarium or Shedd Aquarium every Saturday morning and enjoy every step entranced by the skyline views and sailboats floating in the harbors. For you that have moved away from this area plan on a return, in the summer or fall preferably, and see what I see.
